Top Kelowna Hotels | Wine, Sunsets and Lakeside Retreats

We're on a sunny drive through the many vineyards and orchards just east of the city. Our car takes us past family-owned wineries, with sun-kissed grapes plump and swelling on the vine. This is Kelowna.

We’re heading for Hot Sands Beach in downtown Kelowna, a long sandy stretch with a water trampoline park, a huge playground, and a wide, flat boardwalk that runs for miles along Okanagan Lake. Kelowna, and neighboring West Kelowna, are perched along Okanagan Lake, a deep, clear, 85-mile-long body of water that’s surrounded by swaths of forest and rolling mountains.

While Kelowna’s agricultural roots show in the fruit orchards to the east and south, modern Kelowna is a tourist’s dream. The city is packed with things to do and see, like tours of award winning wineries, food-to-table dining, hiking, boating, biking, zip lining, an impressive indoor waterpark for rainy days and growing art and music scenes.

If you’re visiting in winter, the world class Big White Ski resort is only 45 minutes away, and snowshoeing Myra Canyon brings you through tunnels to perfect views of historic wooden trestles over a plunging gorge.

Only three hours east of Vancouver, Kelowna’s hotels range from summer resorts and high-end hotels to budget-friendly chains and funky renovated motels. Here are some of our favourite hotels in Kelowna and West Kelowna, British Columbia.
