By , April 23rd, 2018

Summertime, and the livin’ is easy… Seize the short week and make the most of the August Long Weekend. But let’s first answer the question on everyone’s mind…

Step 1: When is the August Long Weekend and the Civic Holiday in 2018?

In 2018, the Civic Holiday falls on Monday, August 6th, meaning the August Long Weekend in 2018 lasts from Saturday, August 4th to Monday, August 6th.

Did you know that each province has a different name for the Civic Holiday? In BC, it’s aptly known as British Columbia Day with similar patterns for New Brunswick Day, and Saskatchewan Day. In Alberta, it is known as Heritage Day and is an optional statutory holiday.

Sorry, Manitoba, Quebec, Yukon and Nova Scotia! The Civic Holiday is not considered a statutory in your province or territory.
